Dear colleagues,
31.10.2013
Results of the internship of master students from Kazakh National Technical University after K.I. SatpaevResults of the internship of master students from Kazakh National Technical University after K.I. SatpaevWithin the framework of the cooperation agreement between the National Mining University (NMU) and the Kazakh National Technical University after K.I. Satpaev (Almaty, Kazakhstan, KazNTU) exchange guests, that are master students of mining courses from the partner university, visited us during the period from 19 to 29 of October, 2013. Their purpose was to have a scientific internship. Guests were received at the Department of Open Cast Mining. Within the framework of the program next points were considered:
Meeting with our university by master students began with visits to museums. Guests noted the high professional competence and a rich collection of exhibits.
National Mining University impressed visitors with its history and ancient traditions that are revered from generation to generation. This fact significantly distinguishes our universities because preference of KazNTU is not history, but innovation, modern trends and novelties. According to them, as soon as something new appears in education or science, then it immediately finds the implementation and usage at the KazNTU. That’s why, KazNTU today and, for example, 10 years ago is completely different universities. Kazakh students had their internship at the Department of Open Cast Mining and the Department of Construction and Geomechanics:
Professors gave lectures for foreign colleagues about the implementation of innovative technologies at the mining industry. Master students visited Volnogorskiy Mining-Metallurgical Complex within an exchange of practical knowledge and skills. Guests noted that they have got a great impression and experience during preliminary presentation of postgraduate student, which scientific director is senior lecturer Drizhenko. They were impressed by close work between the applicant and scientific adviser. According to them, this is one of the key points that distinguish the writing of the thesis in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Master students also focused on the close collaboration between the University and industry within the framework of the theses writing. Another advantage, which was allocated among others, was the presence of lectures about the Bologna process. Guests found these lectures extremely important for the overall understanding of the education system as a whole. Such lectures at the KazNTU are absent, and sometimes it leads to the fact that students have studied for 4 years without understanding the structure of their education. Meeting with Dnepropetrovsk also was successful and informative. Good weather gave warm days and Kazakh students were able to enjoy not only our museums, but also open sights of the city.
In the end, the guests were very happy with their internship at our university, kindness and responsiveness of our lecturers and with obtained new knowledge and experience, which they plan to use immediately after home arriving. |
